Christi Thompson
Director of Compliance
As Compliance Officer, Christi develops and maintains ARGO’s Compliance Management Program. Her objective is to ensure a relevant and comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance pertaining to the financial services industry with emphasis on those issues that directly impact ARGO’s software and technical solutions.
With over 30 years in banking and related services, Christi joined ARGO in 2015. Christi started her career shortly after graduation from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a BBA, and then completed additional studies at SMU earning a Master’s degree in July 2005. Before joining ARGO, Christi spent six years at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a Compliance Analyst /Compliance Examiner. Before working for the FDIC, Christi formed a consulting firm offering various consulting functions for several financial institutions, including de novo bank charters. Christi started consulting after the sale/merger of a Dallas-based financial institution where she held the position of EVP-CFO/COO for over 14 years.
Christi graduated with recognition in leadership from the SW Graduate School of Banking/SMU (SWGSB) and became a faculty member beginning with the 1991 session. Additionally, she conducts classes and holds speaking engagements with several other groups including the Texas Tech School of Banking. Christi also graduated from the American Bankers Association’s (ABA) Graduate Compliance Management School and Commercial Lending School. Certifications earned include ABA’s Certified Regulatory Compliance Manage (CRCM) and Certified Lender Business Banking (CLBB). Christi received the SWGSB Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Achievement in Banking Education and currently serves as a Director of the SWGSB Alumni Association.
Christi is a Dallas native with strong roots in the community strengthened by closely following her father’s legacy and career in banking. From small bank start-ups to multi-billion dollar financial institutions, from consulting to both sides of regulatory meetings, Christi experienced many facets of banking and has a true passion for education.
